  A Delectable Tale for Fish Lovers by Rajat Sarkar, Hamburg A few days back, a friend told me that the ‘fish’ in the 'Some' restaurant was good. She got to know about it from her brother. She herself is not a fish eater. I said to her, “Never say anything to a Bengali about fish and their quality. Leave the Bengali alone! Fish exists in the Bengali psyche from the womb to the tomb! Satyajit Ray even made use of fish scales in one of his movies. The world, including Hamburg, may boast about its fish, but none can match the Bengalis’ affairs, both licit and illicit, with fish. While the EU and Britain may continue to fight over fishing rights in the North Sea, Bengalis handle fish with care so that there is no real culture clash, domestic disharmony, marriage mistrust, relationship rupture, or sports strife. Fish exist in the everyday existence of a Bengali. Fishy politics ensure pride of Bengaliness. And a Bengali eats fish with his/her hands – not with cutle...

Rajat Sarkar of Hamburg, Germany briefly expressed his opinion on the WhatsApp page. What impressed me is his satiric style and the crispiness in looking at a dreaded virus that has suddenly taken mankind by storm. BARCELONA – La Sagrada Familia, an architectural wonder Barcelona is proud of Antoni Gaudí. It is Gaudí's city. The two seem to be almost indivisible after Gaudí delivered some architectural wonders to the city he loved. Park Güell and Sagrada Familia are two architectural masterpieces he created and gifted to his city. Although Sagrada Familia is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, I perceived it as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. I was stumped when the temple façade loomed up for the first time. Awesome! It is an incredible beauty! The only similarity to the Gothic architecture was the Latin Cross Floor Plan, which Gaudí maintained in his design. The core in the Plan is occupied by four aisles of 7.5 M wide each and a nave of 15 M wide, totalling 45 M The complex geometries developed by Gaudí deviated significantly from the Gothic designs. The thrilling story of the Spanish Armada; the chivalric romances of the errant knight Don Quixote; the daredevilry of the brave Matadors in tackling the bulls continue to fascinate me. The Romans, the romantic Moors who ruled for almost 800 years, the swashbuckling Spaniards who demonstrated their prowess as conquerors, explorers, bullfighters, flamenco dancers, football players all seemed to be beckoning me to unravel the mysteries of this captivating land.
